RotPG – Jaymystic & Scotty James 06/17/2016

Jaymystic
Jeremy Miller aka Jaymystic is well known throughout the west coast of the U.S. and Canada for his deep, soulful and funky style of house. Jeremy got his musical start at age seven where piano lessons were a weekly occurrence that didn’t end until the age of eighteen when he joined the U.S.M.C. and was stationed in Los Angeles in 1990.It was here that he first heard electronic music and became a mainstay in the underground music scene as a dj and promoter. 300 Jeremy’s first residency was in 1996 at the fabled Zoot Suite in Portland, Oregon, where he brought his deep and soulful sound to a city that historically preferred a darker more aggressive style. The Zoot Suite soon became the premier house and downtempo destination in Portland, and from 1996 – 1999, Jeremy hosted monthly residencies for Mushroom Jazz and OM Records, alongside the likes of Mark Farina, Doc Martin, And Caldwell, John Howard, Jeno and Dj Garth as well as countless others. During his stay in Portland, Jeremy maintained several other residencies including a monthly at the famed Suebeez Ultra Lounge and Restaurant in Vancouver, BC, The Friends and Family parties in San Francisco and helped pioneer the supper club culture in Portland with a monthly residency at the Saucebox, which is still one of Portland’s premier destinations for a sophisticated dinning experience while enjoying the beautiful sounds of the world’s best downtempo and deep house djs.
Jeremy relocated back to Los Angeles in the 1999 where he quickly made a name for himself and landed a residence at Luna Park on Friday nights in Hollywood. The Spot at Luna Park was named the hottest Friday night destination in 2000 by The L.A. Weekly. The Spot also received accolades from LA2nite.com, clubplanet.com, and was routinely featured on KCRW as the best electronic music Friday night in Los Angeles. Luna Park was considered THE place to be seen for young Hollywood in the early 00s. Jeremy’s talent was spotted at Luna Park and he was offered a residency at the exclusive Sunset Room. The venue opened on Halloween of 1999, and by 2000 it was the hottest place in town on Thursday and Saturday nights. Seeing-stars.com and Variety magazine named in it the best dinner and dancing club to see stars during 2000 and 2001.
Jeremy Dj’ed numerous events while at his residence including the wrap party for “Beverly Hills 90210″ in April of 2000, the 100th episode of the TV series, “Moesha,” the wrap party for “3000 miles to Graceland”, “The Carwash” and the “Party of Five” wrap party. Other notable events were the Leonardo DiCaprio hosted MVP party for Shaquille ONeal after the Lakers won their 2000 Championship, the premier party for “The Pledge” which saw Jack Nicholson, Sean Penn & Lou Adler in attendance as well as The post-premiere party for “Snatch” which brought out Madonna & Guy Ritchie, Vinnie Jones and Benicio Del Toro.
Then in 2003 Jeremy relocated to Orange County, CA to attend Pepperdine University and pursue a degree in business management and marketing. Jeremy continued to pursue his dj career as well and has graced the decks at the legendary Focus house club as well as The Detroit Bar, Memphis Soul Café, Club Vegas, The Shark Club, The Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles and The Vintage Hollywood Hush parties. He is also a regular feature attraction at the Santa Ana and Fullerton Art Walks, The Lab Anti-mall, and local radio shows on KUCI. Jeremy’s musical maturation into the down tempo, bossanova, world music, dub, acid jazz, nu funk, electro jazz, and dnb sounds has worked well for him in recent years landing him special appearances at the now closed Chat Noir Jazz and Supper Club in Costa Mesa and Chimayo in Huntington Beach as well as corporate appearances for Hurley International, Arbonne International Cosmetics, The NAMM tradeshow, and The WSA clothing and footwear trade show for numerous local sports action apparel companies.
Jeremy has just recently accepted a membership invitation from The Hush Crew in LA and is now a resident dj and regular contributor to all Hush Crew affiliated events and promotions. (for more info please seehushradio.com) Jeremy also throws a monthly in OC called HUSTLE where routinely books the best talent from the nufunk and house scenes. Danny Massure, Qdup Foundation, Flo, Jamie Thinnes, and Thomas White of Natural Rhythm are just a few of the names that have come through.
Jeremy has also partnered with Sol Cocina in Newport beach to open a new Thursday night house and downtempo lounge. Sol is located on the water in Newport beach and is considered to be one of the best restaurant and lounges in all of Orange County.
Scotty James
Back in the day…let’s say 1996, with two of his mom’s old turntables and no microphone, Scotty jumped into the world of DJ’ing. He first got his start in Austin, TX. It was there that he fine tuned his talents and landed a Friday night mix show called “The 13th Hour” on the local college radio station, 91.7fm KVRX. “The 13th Hour” radio show featured both local and national guest DJ’s and brought Austin fresh electronic music weekly for over 2 years.
After finishing his schooling in Texas, Scotty decided to move out to Los Angeles to follow his passion for music. Within the first two years of living in Los Angeles, he managed to land two club residencies and DJ’ed regularly for rave promoters 26C and Freedom Force Five.
Through mutual friends within the scene, Scotty met Funguy and jlife. After hanging out at a few parties, they soon realized their shared passion for electronic music. Sick of the typical Hollywood club scene, it was only a matter of time before they organized their resources and started throwing parties. The Hush Crew was born.
In the spring of 2008, Scotty was invited to be the tour DJ on the second half of the Keith Urban & Carrie Underwood North American tour. Before and in between Keith & Carrie’s performances, he warmed crowds over with an eclectic mix of classic, feel good tunes.
Over 14 years now, Scotty has graced the decks and entertained crowds from coast to coast. Whether he’s rocking an arena or a playing a bar mitzvah, Scotty brings forth an uplifting yet lighthearted energy to his DJ sets. His somewhat eclectic style includes all forms of House, Breaks and Drum & Bass. Past residencies include: The Standard Rooftop, Key Club, Sunset Room, Luna Park, Shelter, Falcon, Club Lingerie, SPLURGE, Freedom Force Five and 26C Events. For mixes or info, visitHushRadio.com.
RotPG – Big Cee 06/03/2016

Chris “Big Cee” Legaspi has been a staple in the Los Angeles house music community for the last 10 years. He was mostly remembered for being “the guy in the robe”, but for the last 7 years most know “Cee” for his amazing sets at clubs such as “Does your mama know?”, “Gravy”, countless after-hour parties and the the one he holds closest to his heart, “DEEP-L.A. where house lives…”.
“Man, working with Marques for all these years has been a great learning process for me.” Cee explains, “Old dirty (Wyatt) has taught me that this is more than a party, also that when your involved with something like “Deep”, the microscope is always gonna be on you.” Marques told “Cee” when he’s out on the town he is not only representing him- self, he is representing his family and he caries the “Deep” flag where ever he goes. “Yeah, really.” says Cee while he tweaks the levels on the mixer,”That talk with Marques changed my life.
If you knew me in the “Robe days”, you’ll know what I’m talkng about.” Working at “Deep” Cee has had opprotunities to open for some of house musics biggest dj’s in the game, dj’s like Timmy Regisford, Louie Vega, Dj Yellow, Ben Watt, the legendary Lil Louis, Mark Farina and an endless list of whos who in house music. “Those guys are all great dj’s, but the best thing about all those guys is that I had an opprotunity to become close friends with all of them.” says Cee. Cee has had the pleasure of spreading his musical message across the Atlantic Ocean, spinning in Rome. “That was a geat trip, great food, nicest people you will ever meet(except the cab driver who tried to charge us 400 euro for a cab ride”). “Cee” is no stranger to hosting his own events, besides “DEEP” Cee has brought such djs as Roy Davis jr, Terrance Wagner, Eddie Amadore and countless others to his events “Put cho’ hands up”, “the bbq’s” and his sunday afterhours.
Cee speaks of moving forward and trying not to hang on to the “old days”, ” I believe we have to move forward and start building off of the foundation that guys like Marques, Louie and Doc Martin have layed for us.” Cee explains “don’t get me wrong, those days were great, the music was great and there will never be days like that again, but we got to create our own memories, so the new family members can look back 10 years from now and say remember this and that”.
On March 24, 2005 Cee became a father to Cayla Rayanne Legaspi, which he calls “His greatest accomplishment yet.” Cee says, ” Man, Im someones dad, thats wild.” She helps Cee realize that in a second your life can change and its up to you to Step upto the plate and Do what you have to do. “I love being a father!” Cee says, “Cayla is my everything, i breathe because of her, I wake up every morning because of her. She’s my will to WIN!” Cee continues to play and has been spending more time in the studio.

He has a mad passion and love for the Oldskool Techno, Breakbeat and Jungle sounds of the early 90’s and evolved into Drum & Bass as well as a wide variety of other electronic music genres. Collecting as many mixtapes as he could get his hands on, he eventually graduated to vinyl and DJ’ing in the mid 90’s. He’s inspired by the original sounds of L.A.
