RotPG – Megoosta 05/03/2013
Megoosta has been producing Electronic music since 2002.
Growing up in London, England, Megoosta started DJing back in high school where he was introduced to RAM Records and Proximity Records label boss ‘Basher’ who inspired him to get into production.
Megoosta has Deejayed in various countries around the world including England, France, Malaysia and Israel and the list is growing.
Megoosta is now doing a cyber tour of online and fm stations around the world to coincide with the release of his brand new Facebook page www.facebook.com/megoostaofficial and also his brand new custom built recording studio in the Irish countryside where he has retreated due to too many complaints from residential areas.
The average DJ set from Megoosta will include heavy and sometimes melodic Electro with hints of Dubstep after many hours of filtering through promos and releases. “My sets include no fillers, each track is hand selected to blow your brains out, even if I have to filter through 200 songs to find 1… So be it” – Megoosta

OUR GUEST:

Perspectives Digital ★ Renaissance ★ Sudbeat ★ Hope ★ friskyRadio ★ Armada ★ Perfecto ★ One of the winners in John Digweed & Beatport’s DJ Competition ★ Los Angeles
Internationally acclaimed DJ, producer, radio host, and label owner Darin Epsilon is often referred to as a leader of the Progressive & Tech House scene. His Perspectives radio show and podcast, along with his frequent guest appearances on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio allow him to reach tens of thousands of listeners on a regular basis. His SoundCloud page alone has over 600,000 total plays and receives a whopping 10,000 plays per month. He launched his record label Perspectives Digital in November 2010 as an extension of the brand, further solidifying his influence and presence within the global dance community. To top it all, he was named one of the winners in John Digweed & Beatport’s DJ Competition during the summer of 2011.
As a gifted student of music from an early age, former record shop employee, and former director of a college radio station, Darin draws inspiration from his nearly encyclopedic knowledge and genuine appreciation of electronic music. He cites a variety of important influences in the past decade, from the early Leftfield and Future Sound of London albums, to the iconic Global Underground compilation series, to the sweeping sounds of Paul Oakenfold circa 1999, to Sasha & Digweed’s mind-blowing Delta Heavy tour in 2002.
To date, Darin has released music on many of the industry’s most respected labels including Renaissance, Sudbeat, Hope Recordings, Perfecto, Armada, and Black Hole. His productions have entered Beatport’s Top 100 charts numerous times and are featured in the compilations of Nick Warren, Markus Schulz, and Paul Oakenfold, among many others.
If you have ever been in the audience to catch one of his live sets, it becomes almost immediately apparent that he is proficiently skilled as a DJ as well. His frequent flyer miles seem almost continually on the rise with regular tours around the world. He has electrified audiences across the United States, as well as headlined shows in Argentina, Kenya, Russia, UK, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Bulgaria, Colombia, Peru, Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica.
Over the years, he has shared the spotlight with many of dance music’s superstars including Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, John Digweed, Sasha, James Zabiela, Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten, BT, Sander Kleinenberg, Fedde Le Grand, John Graham (Quivver), Josh Gabriel (Gabriel & Dresden), Jody Wisternoff (Way Out West), Dirty South, Morgan Page, and countless others. He has also been invited to perform at North America’s biggest festivals including the White Wonderland, Nocturnal Wonderland, and the Ultra Music Festival.
However, it would be foolish to say that his achievements have been purely confined to the club setting. Global brands such as MTV, American DJ, American Audio, Elation Professional, and Global Truss have all called upon him to provide the soundtrack to their videos. His music can also be found in the films Ecstasy and Slip Cue, placing him in a small category of producers that have ever made it onto the big screen.
With hard work, passion, pure dedication to his art, and support from the industry’s most revered names, this Chicago native turned LA transplant aims to prove that this is only the beginning to a long and promising career.
*On Darin Epsilon’s label Perspectives Digital just released a huge package by Antix & Tim Richards titled ‘Another Day’. Features A-list remixers Andre Sobota, SQL, and Fiord. It’s out now on Beatport.
RotPG – Kentrol & Basso 03/08/2013
DJ Kentrol
Think intelligent music. DJ Kentrol has risen from the underground and captured listeners throughout the golden coast with his unique style of trance. He is one half of producer duo, Mood Kentrol. Their debut track Do It Again, is currently being played throughout the club circuit in southern California. Visit www.djkentrol.com for more information.
BASSO
In an era of celebrity DJs, instructional dance anthems, and “viral” everything, it has become increasingly difficult to find a filthy original sound – a 21st Century artist true to his roots. Meet Basso. Basso is a musical project led by South American DJ/producer, Irwin Garcia. While most producers are riding out waves of trendy festival tunes, Basso has been perfecting his global bass heavy sound. Basso will be debuting his highly anticipated EP Loverboy, later this year.
RotPG – Jamie Thinnes 02/01/2013
>>click here to listen to the show<<>>click here to watch the show<< Texas born Jamie Thinnes transplanted to the LA area as a young teenager and was quickly seduced by the intriguing sounds found in the wee hours, in the abundant warehouses, loft spaces and odd locations scattered throughout southern California. Early on, house music crept into Jamie’s soul and has been his guiding light ever since. Quickly becoming an underground favorite in the early ‘90s, Jamie forged his unique and captivating sound in a wide variety of Los Angeles environs – from full scale nightclubs to many a dark and dirty after-hours, from sunny beaches to ultra exclusive, all-night house parties. His trademark deep, spiritual rhythms and low frequency grooves never fail to keep the dancefloor marching in time to sunrise and beyond. A master mixer and programmer behind the decks, Jamie’s unwavering devotion to house shines through with every twist of the knob and every slide of the fader. In 1996, Jamie’s musical vision blossomed when he had the good fortune of becoming involved with the Long family, founders of the famed Higher Source Records establishment (arguably, the finest record store in the LA area from 1996 to 2003). With the generous hand of the Longs, Jamie and long time friend and collaborator, Dean DeCosta, founded Earthtones Recordings. After 10 highly regarded releases, Earthtones was forced to change its name due to trademark issues. As Dean became heavily involved in the record store, Jamie pushed on and Seasons Recordings was born. 15 years in existence, with a heavy catalog of class act releases featuring Franck Roger, Olivier Portal, John Cutler, Dj Spinna, Anto Vitale, Charles Webster, Boddhi Satva, Black Coffee and Jamie himself, to name a few, Seasons has truly evolved into one of the premier house music imprints worldwide. While countless other labels have faded away or tried to re-invent themselves with a new sound every few years, Seasons, and its revered Seasons Ltd. sub-label, have stood the test of time with consistent, quality house music that’s based on an unshakeable foundation of musicality, soulful delivery and infectious grooves. |
